Q: Why do you love beer?

A: I don’t know how to say this without sounding cheesy, but beer is an experience. The flavors, aromas, and appearance … can all trigger memories and feelings. Beer can also be discussed, analyzed, argued over … or simply enjoyed outside on a beautiful day. From the brewing side of things, there are so many styles and variations. Beer is only limited by the brewer’s creativity. With the immense palette of grains, hops, yeast, adjuncts, and other additions available to brewers, there are so many exciting opportunities. I’ve been brewing for 20 years, and I’m still learning new things.

Q: What kind of beer are you brewing? 

A: I'm brewing a NEIPA using City, Nectaron, Zappa, and Galaxy hops.

Q: Are you brewing in honor of anyone? Would you like to say anything about their story?

A: I am brewing in honor of my aunt, Betty Jensen, who passed away in 2011.

Q: Do you have any favorite memories, interesting opinions, or otherwise notable things to relate about your love for brewing?

A: Oh, I have opinions. Just ask me at the event.

Q: How long have you been brewing for KFTC?

A: It's been so long. Since 2014.

Q: What is your favorite beer or style?

A: Depends on the season. Lagers all the time, IPAs in the summer, stouts, porters, and Scottish in the cooler months.

Q: Anything else you’d like to say?

A: I like beer.
